Under 13"s
The group of young ladies that made up the Under 13's second side was the grittiest, most determined bunch of netballers I have had the privelige to coach. They came out firing in their first game and managed to secure a draw against Mandurah. This was followed by solid, hard fought wins against all other teams on Saturday and Sunday.
Monday saw us up against the leaders of the competition who had annihilated every other team in their path - Albany. To our girls credit they kept them to their lowest score by a significant amount but conceded a loss in the end. We then had to wait on final percentages to see if we had made the final. HOORAY WE MADE IT!! The girls put in a huge effort agains Albany in the final but they were too good in the end. Top two finish after an intensive training leadup and a huge effort all weekend - brilliant result girls. Full credit to Assistant Coach Tania Emonds on her amazing effort with the goalies, a big thankyou to our terrific cheer squad Jess and also to our fabulous umpire Lian Mews.

12/U Division 1
With 11 players in the squad it was difficult at times fielding the most prominent attacking and defending circle combinations. Our defenders worked very hard all weekend and forced a number of turnovers but unfortunately we didn’t value the ball well enough to capitalize on them. There was some strong defence work by Zoe (GD) and Mikalaya (WD) combined with good running through the centre by both Sarah (C) and Jemima (WA). Our games were, at times, riddled with errors however on a more positive note our shooters began to find their range in a game against Southern Districts which ended in a draw (11-11). All players should benefit greatly from the experience of playing in a very strong division.
